The good news for Pumla Mkatali arrived too late. Two years may not be much sand within the hourglass of eternity, but it makes a big difference in a human lifetime.
A Pretoria judge ruled that she had the right to keep secrets from her husband. So, if she didn't want to tell him about the SMS (text message) she received late one night then she didn't have to share it ... no matter what their normal marital agreement was. That good news also arrived too late and in bad circumstances for her high ranking government official husband, David Linley Sonkosi. Perhaps if he had known the law he would not have beaten her to death because she wouldn't tell him who she got the message from or what it was about.
ZOWIE!!!!!
A potential $30 billion dollar secret -- cause if you are going to keep a secret, it should be a big one -- has some U.S. Senate folks dismayed. They're not in on it. So, Senators Lieberman and Collins are pleading (every five months or so) to learn about the country's new Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative, which is supposed to zoidrqlkrhy;o7yudfarh (Sorry, that's classified info we can't share. But maybe this guy will explain it in his next book.)
** The last thing you want to do is take Big Jo's money and then not let her know how you'll spend it. **
Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the expurgated names and appointments from Hillary Clinton's just released list of appointments from her time as first lady involved sex? If all or a bunch of private sessions with private individuals were about personal relationships of the naked and dirty kind it would be so much more entertaining than learning only that her team decided to combat the charges she was too secretive by releasing tons of documents that don't really reveal anything but still include whole sections blacked out for secret reasons. Suppose, for example, in the interest of keeping Big Bill from wandering she was learning Sex Secrets from Escorts: Tips from a Pro, written by Veronica Monet, who also thinks keeping sex secret is ruining the planet?
Perhaps it is Hillary Clinton's secrets that are the problem with her campaign, not her campaign manager. In her "60 Minutes" interview with Katie Couric (and would it be kept secret -- would anyone notice or care -- if they switched places?), HRC revealed, ""My two secrets to staying healthy: wash your hands all the time. And, if you can't, use Purell or one of the sanitizers. And the other is hot peppers. I eat a lot of hot peppers." So, there you have a heckuva ("job, Brownie") health care initiative and an inane conversation and pretense at spilling the beans that seems very much a sign of the times.
If "love is the secret" to [fill in the blank and then Google] then it couldn't be too much of a secret. Still, everyone once there is a turnaround enough -- such as when a Greek politician known for promoting the country's thousands years hatred toward the Turks suddenly finds their interests worth promoting -- that you are sure there has been some secret behind it. And, in this case, it is the Greek man's love (or at least lust) for a Turkish woman.
The coverage has been wall-to-wall (or maybe stall-to-stall) so there seems to be only one secret left unrevealed in Larry "wide stance" Craig's public flame-out. What was illegal?
Unethical. Immoral. Hypocritical. Hilarious. All, yes. But against the law?
It wouldn't be such a secret if he had engaged in some sort of public sex act, or was found to be harassing someone about engaging in sexual acts. But are Idaho police cruising Boise bars and citing men and women trying to hook up? Is there a secret Idaho tort about seeking sex with someone to whom you're not yet married? Do other states have such laws? Is there a web site we can go to find out?
The only secret left for alleged (yuk, yuk, yuk) potential policeman-frotager Larry Craig is what he will blame. Drugs (prescription, no doubt)? Alcohol? Dad or mom? Secret to the point of non-existent is who will believe what he says.
Is it more interesting to learn who is a hypocrite or what sex acts the hypocrites engaged in? Maybe the sleuths looking through the DC madam's phone records will be able to provide both?
