The Bush administration wants high school students to give up their secrets (drug- and presumably alcohol-related at first). They promise to do it all anonymously. So, they want the secret, won't rat out the child who uses and then will do what with the info? To be fair, maybe in return high school students can test administration officials to see what kinds laws they are planning break?
And who can blame them?
It turns out that many students at Cornell happily used information about class grades that had previously been unavailable to opt into courses where more people got better grades. And, overall, university grades rose. But -- and, again, not surprisingly -- there is dissension among the masses with the implementation of the second part of the program to each class's median grade on the transcript, contextualizing the grade inflation.
